Harefield primary is a vibrant two form entry school on the east side of Southampton, that has achieved a silver award for being a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, an award we are extremely proud of.  Our pupils take PRIDE (Prepared, Respectful, Involved, Determined, Everyday) in their learning, behaviour, and our school community. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our leadership team. We are looking for a motivated, highly organised, impactful middle leader who shares our ambition to help all the pupils in our care achieve their fullest potential. You will join our team at an exciting time of change for the school to lead on the quality of mathematics teaching across the school with oversight of performance in upper key stage 2.
 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the school’s mathematics curriculum, delivering high-quality teaching and effective use of resources. You will work to improve teaching and learning and outcomes for all pupils, while also carrying out your duties as a classroom teacher. To support you to achieve this, you will be given an increased amount of leadership time out of class.

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:

We are seeking to appoint an expert classroom practitioner, who routinely models best practice. Candidates should be able to evidence how their practice and leadership positively influences pupil achievement. They should demonstrate an ability to influence the practice of other staff and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO:

  • Secures high standards in teaching and learning across the curriculum in UKS2.
  • Can lead a whole school strategic vision and development of the Maths curriculum.
  • Can lead staff training, coaching and mentoring staff in relevant areas.
  • Can evaluate and report on the impact of teaching on pupil progress.
  • Can lead assessment of Maths for the whole school community alongside SLT.

  • Has positive energy and clear understanding of continuous provision, to lead the strategic development of an ambitious Early Years curriculum, resourcing vibrant and interesting learning spaces, both indoors and outdoors;
  • Can lead and coordinate assessment across EYFS, including statutory reporting and moderation, maximizing pupil and parental engagement; 
  • Can play a leading role in ensuring that the quality of teaching and provision in EYFS is outstanding. 
  • Has at least 2 year’s experience teaching across Early years /KS1.
  • Wants to develop as a leader through high quality CPD as part of this role and working in HAMWIC Education Trust.
